Hello all,

I'm thinking about using CPR HOB Refugium - size medium - for a 75 or 90 gallon glass tank. Is there any danger from this weight hanging on the tank side over time?

Are there any seal failures known to be caused from HOB Refugiums?

PS - Sumps are convenient and flexible - I just don't care for crawling around under the stand.

Even though larger refugiums can weight upwards of 40 pounds when full, it adds very little relative stress to the glass. I'm not sure I would put a 40 pound fuge on a 10g tank but on a 75g or 90g? Not an issue unless the tank already has weak seams.

I have had the large CPR (5gal) on a 29 gal Aqueon for 3 years with no signs of stress. The pressure of the water from inside the tank, I would estimate, would dwarf the pressure of the HOB

Thanks for the information - I was worried.......... new house, hardwood floors etc...

thanks

I used 2 HOB on my 125. No problems. But easier to work on a larger sump under than those on the back unless your not against a wall.
