HOB Skimmer on the sump

What are the thoughts and concerns of putting an HOB skimmer on a sump?

I have a Octopus Classic 100-HOB that is working like a champ. I purchased a Eshopps R-100 2nd Gen sump, not yet installed. I'd like to move the skimmer under the tank to the sump.

Other than head space what are some concerns? As long as the skimmer pump is submersed, does water level in the sump mater?

It usually won't matter just so long as the water level stays fairly consistent
