Hob skimmer overflowing

Hi, I left my house 6 hours ago skimmer working fine, come back skimmer just starting to over flow on my floor.Trying to figure out why? Tried formula one frozen for the first time before I left? Installed new lighting yesterday? Did a water change yesterday but was fine before I left.Cleaned venturi hole of debris yesterday ?

Any ideas?

Is the filter media all brown and gunked up not allowing water to flow through?

Are you dosing anything? Sometimes something as simple as new filter media that's not rinsed well enough can make a skimmer overflow

Using carbon and phosguard that's it. Rinsed it yesterday. Skimmer is working normal now. I just don't know.

Was a little foamy when first starting after emptying cup after over flow.

It has to be ocean nutrition formula one food. First time I tried ,and did google search and I have seen others with this issue. Wow, that was close call.

Sometimes they can just overflow for no apparent reason (even though there usually is something in there making it go crazy) I'm always a little leary of hob skimmers for that reason
