HOB sump

So I am starting a 30 gallon reef tank and I have found a hang on back overflow (Eshopps PF-300 Overflow Box - Up to 75 gal.), and a HOB skimmer (Eshopps PSK-75H Hang-On Protein Skimmer - Up to 75 gal.). And I cant seem to find a hang on back sump all I find is hang on back refugiums but no HOB sumps. If anyone knows where I can get one that would be great.

HOB Sump? ?? Why are you getting an overflow box and a sump? The overflow feeds the sump. A refugium is a sump (for practical purposes). If you really want everything HOB then use that as your sump.

Yes, that HOB overflow box would feed a traditional sump that you find under a tank. Also like reeferbob said, refugium = sump (with macro and a light), so a HOB refugium could easily be a HOB sump if thats what you wanted to do with it.

Those eshopps HOB skimmers work very well for the price, and a HOB refugium would be a good place to hide equipment. I would not bother with a HOB overflow (i know ill ruffle feathers, but i dont like/trust them). Either drill the tank or use that HOB equipment, both ways will work out just as well.

Ok thanks, and i could just get a HOB refugium and use that as a HOB sump? Also what other items would i need to get everything working. Because i was wondering if i would need any pumps or tubing or anything else like that to get it running

And i could use this with the skimmer and overflow box i found? Also does this come with everything i need to make it into a sump

It comes with a pump and you don't need an over flow box. I have the large one and I use it for sump/refugium. Works great.

so i could use this with the skimmer i found and would i need any additional things to set up the skimmer i found and this sump

Your skimmer is completely seperate from your sump/refugium when you do hob equipment. Everything you need comes with the crp refugium, unless you're putting sand and macro algae in it but that's up to you
