Been a member here for a bit, just have never posted. So here we go. Currently own a 40G drilled tank (mixed reef) w/20g sump/fuge. Ecotech Radion for lighting, MP10 for extra flow, Eshopps PSK75 in-sump skimmer, Rio 3100 return pump. That sums up the equipment really.

TY for the welcomes. Hope to be someone that can give others some good knowledge about reefs and other things as well.

Oh, and for those of you that worry about me having a mandarin in a 40g tank..don't worry, he is trained and eats pellets, along with frozen mysis and brine occasionally as well. And if ya'll don't believe me I will have to film it and post it haha

I will try and get more pics up of the other fish, but some of them are shy haha. I am hopefully picking up a helfrichi firefish tomorrow. Trading some SPS for him. (trying to get rid of most of my SPS, too much upkeep for me haha, probably will just keep my ponape birdsnest and green pocillopora)

Welcome! Where did you get your mandarin? And how do you like having black sand? Do you have any problems with the tank getting too warm? Just wondering because that was my first choice but my boyfriend was afraid of the tank getting too warm lol Your tank looks great btw! thanks for sharing!

I actually picked him up from a friend that couldn't keep him. Took a bit in QT but I was able to get him to finally eat pellets. I really like the black sand makes the fish and coral POP a little more IMO. I haven't notice any temp issues. I live in Vegas so it gets pretty warm here, That is why I ended up going LED. My Apex keeps the tank steady around 79 degrees and in the summer my A/C for the house is usually set at 78-79 as well. So no issues with warmth in the tank what-so ever.

On that not. Picked up this guy today as well. . Disregard the Instagram styling of pic. lol
