hi,

any thoughts and ideas on the whole in the fin?

actually the fish is with me since 8 April and the hole wasn't visible upon arriving but developed last week and seems to get bigger.

the fish eats well, even bites in the siphon hose, does not breath fast, no white poop, does not scratch or twitch. I saw that other fish at the shop had white poo and therefore treated with food soaked in metronidazole for about 10 days.

for the first time my ammonia batch shows 0.05 and every 2 days I change 40% water and dose prime to detoxify.

thank you

Is she the only fish in the tank? It could be a bit of an infection setting in that is eating away at the fin there, but iit looks mild at this point. A healthy diet including vitamins could knock it out.

thanks!

I feed ocean nutrition f1, their brine shrimp flakes, hikari s and tetra veggie crisp (some sort of flakes but disk shaped). would you suggest to soak the food in vitamins? I have omega fish oil on hands as well.

thanks again [emoji4]

I would definitely add in a frozen blend like mysis shrimp. The fish oil is a good addition and the vitamins are always a good bet.

^^ Agreed. If fish vitamins doesn't heal this, switch over to antibiotics.

Yes "she" is the only fish inside, @melypr1985 sorry for missing out on this before!

would you say kanamycin direct dosed into the water or rather as soaked food?

thank you

If you need to dose antibiotics then do it in the water. Feeding them will take longer to help the fish and kanaplex is readily absorbed into the skin.

if i have something similar to the original poster, the hole in the fin, can i use furan 2 with pratzipro or do i need to wait until i'm done with the pratzipro?
