I’ve had my 14 gallon IM peninsula running for a few months, just noticed this hole in the base of my biggest green toadstool. Should I be concerned? It’s been out and happy.

no fish or crabs/inverts only snails
ammonia: 0 ppm
nitrite: 0 ppm
nitrate: 5 ppm
salinity: 1.025
temp: 78 degrees F

have not changed anything, I have ghost flatworms here and there (will attach pics of both the toadstool and what my flatworms look like)

Very good. I was going to say to make a clean cut above the hole and dip in peroxide which will chase out any worms/pests and the base does heal quickly on its own

Yep I sliced much above the rotting tissue and dipped it in diluted peroxide! Just crazy it was a snail causing the issue!
Yeah, ive seen that. Peanut worms do the same

For those curious or see this in the future, the toadstool cap I sliced off survived and attached to my rock! No more parasitic snails in sight!
