Hole on the Goniastrea skin

Hi guys,

i got this goniastrea coral like almost 2 weeks ago. There’s a like a hole on its skin, is it normal? Should i be worried?

Are you feeding it? They like to eat.

yea i feed it with coral dust once a week.It’s hard to feed it when its tentacles are not out, since the food will just fall down

Yeah my goniastrea was like that at first but once they get used to being fed their sweepers will be out and can stretch quite far.

What are your tank parameters? And where do you have him placed? What livestock do you have?

i placed it in the lower section of the tank, the neon green one below:

Nitrate 20-25ppm
Phosphate: 0.06-0.07 ppm
Alk: 8.2
Mg 1350
Ca 460

ive 2 clowns, YWG, orchid dottyback, firefish and a banggai. Inverts: pistol shrimp, tuxedo urchin and 2 cardinal shrimps and some snails of course

Mine liked higher Alk, I used to keep that tank at 9.5-10. I say try raising your alk or just leave it and keep an eye on it. Keep feeding it until it gets used to you feeding it and then start feeding it solid food. The other heads look good.

Mine used to be my water parameter visual key, when it was fluffy water was good. When it started to shrink it was time to change water.
