Should I move higher up on the rocks or is it my lighting making it look brown? Been in the tank for 2 weeks. Parameters are good and seems healthy. Looks great after daylight shuts off. Biocube 32 w stock leds.

What is your lighting? I keep mine somewhat shaded, and under blue light it absolutely glows

I’m not saying I’m sure anything is wrong but the way that looks too me is not so good. It could just be the lighting and pic. I have one of these and I have tried a few times now to give a good chunk to a friend and both times it died. When it starts going it looses the fullness and bumpy flesh between the polyps and you start seeing the skeleton structure underneath. I feel like that is kinda what I am seeing in your pic.

My light is a lot stronger (Radion led at 70%) and I have this coral at mid tank but off to the side. I would think a little higher in your setup would be good.

I got mine as a tiny tiny frag and it’s been through everything in my tank. It didn’t really take off for me until I got my water stable and the newer lighting. See pics below under blue and room lighting.

Forgot to mention that this coral will eat pretty good and I think it grows really well when fed.

I keep mine about midway in my tank under KessilAP700 at 70% at its peak, and mine is doing great. When I had it in my old 30, I had it at the very top of my tank and it did great there as well. IME, they like a decent amount of light. The flow it is in is a medium flow. I would pull it up of the SB and move it higher a little bit at time until you find that happy spot for it. Good luck!

Moved it halfway up last night and noticed feeder tentacles out for first time this morning. Must like the flow better.

Not looking good but some growth around edges that’s better color. Guess I’ll see what happens

Mine sure likes strong light, it was a 1 inch frag 1.5 years ago. I would move it up.

If it's only been two weeks, I wouldn't be that concerned. It can take a while to really get comfortable and then to start growing.

I've got my Sprung's Stunner (close relative of the Hollywood Stunner if not the same species) in the center of the tank, about a 1/3 up from the bottom, projecting off a ledge, with moderately strong light and flow. It was loosely placed at first, but quickly welded itself into position. Grows like a weed, it has increased 10x in size in just 6 months. As it grew, the edge developed folds, which then fused, creating the little peak you see in the center, and the chimney to the left. Now parts of it are in shadow much of the time, but that doesn't seem to be bothering it much. Every night, it shoots out dozens of fine sweeper tentacles which definitely sting any other corals in its immediate vicinity. In the morning, my hippo tang likes to nibble off some of the sweeper tentacle tips.

It does appear to be bleaching but I can’t say for sure. I’ve tried to send a frag of mine to a friend and it always turns white, loses flesh and dies. I know in her tank it’s not getting bleached from too much light. My suspicion in her tank are the high nitrates killing it.
