I wanted to see if I could get some opinions on the coloring of this coral. I bought a tiny frag that I didn’t know at the time was somewhat bleached. The polyps were neon green and the tissue around them a very light yellow. I’ve seen this piece grow pretty significantly but the coloring has also changed a lot. When it first started recovering the polyps became a darker green and the tissue around them turned purple. This matches a lot of the pictures I see on the net when searching. Then the inner mouths of the polyps turned orange and really made it look awesome. At some point the orange faded away to green and the purple tissue turned green as well. So now it is basically all green with neon green mouths.
I’m trying to figure out what could maybe get it back to the purple with orange mouths but I have really changed a lot of variables in the tank. I switched from stock biocube compact/led lighting over to an Ecotech xr15 G4 pro, I changed salt types, lowered nutrient levels but not uln, changed skimmers, now keep paremeters very stable. The stunner is positioned halfway up the tank but off to the side close to the glass. It was originally moved around some but settled into this spot.
Calcium 450
Alk 10
Magnesium 1400
Phosphates read zero but I’m sure there are some
Nitrates 10-20
Salinity 1.026
Temp 78
Thanks, John
