I know this isn't just an sps thing but wanted to post it in here. Like me I'm sure some of you have sps dominated tanks where aptasia is running wild(stinging some of your sps as well). Trying to kill aptasia with Aptasia X has recently caused me to have an explosion of aptasia. I ordered 8 berghia a few weeks ago(I have at least 100 aptasia in a 60 cube, probably more like 150-200). Plopped them in last week. I was hopeful but to be honest not really fully expecting it to solve the issue. Especially after I didn't see them for 2-3 days after I put them in. Long story short I went out of town on business for 3 days and came back to one of my rocks completely clean of aptasia(this rock probably had 10 medium aptasia but 20 small ones. I can't find a single one. For confirmation I did some night reefing last night around 1:00am. Sure enough I saw all 8 chowing down. Some double and triple teaming one large aptasia. The point of this post is to confirm to fellow reefers that if yiu don't have predatory fish or shrimp, get some of these things. I'm blown away.

Glad they worked out for you. Usually they're not did fast.

They do a great job. But not as well as one would hope. I'm hopeful you'll be aiptasia free for another 4-6 months. But eventually they pop up again.

I went the berghia route once. Just like you I was happy with the results. But in the last 3 months I have about 10 new heads of aiptasia about the size of silver dollars.

Lol you and me both. 11 took on 120 gallon packed with aiptasia in a month. I started to pull out all of the berghias ive seen and still do everynight. I decided to keep a broodstock and breed tank for them just incase aiptasia pops up again. I collected over 70 out of my tank so i sure got my money back lolol

Its crazy because eventually they do come back someway or another. Its like aiptasia never leaves your tank =/. Lol i kept them, noway i was buying them again. Plus to breed them it basically takes no equipment other then a small tank and a couple water changes here in there. I have aiptasia in my frag tank, so i just take out the rocks and toss them in from time to time

Heard those work great!
All they eat is aiptasia. But their life cycle is only 6-9 months. If no aiptasia is visible, they die. And like I said 3 months later, aiptasia thrives again. They are great if you can breed them for personal use. Personally they are over priced otherwise. Dry rock FTW

If you really want to stick it to your aiptasia, I'll send you one of the molly miller or seaweed blennys I catch around here.
