I got this torch a little over a week ago and it did great for the first couple days, then started loosing tips. Need help in how to fix this or make it better. Took a while to figure out what was wrong but almost positive it’s ALK burn, have 9 other torches in the system and all doing fine. What can I do to prevent the tips from falling off. Did a 25% water change last night ( RO water & Reef Crystals. Any help would be appreciated.

Water was tested before water change. I know my nitrates are high always are but after water change they cut in half. IMG_1800.jpeg

It's not alk burn. Or your nitrates. It's your mag sitting that low. Bring it to 1500. Max 100 increase per day.

Agree with the above unless some large fish is sampling the tips then spitting out.

That’s what I had originally thought until I saw little black tips on the tips, literally looks like a burn

Even if that's true... 1100 is still way way too low.

My buddy said I could dose epsom salt to increase mag. Do you recommend that or just go get mag tomorrow LFS was closed today. Thank you very much

I never heard epsom salts. I would just go get magnesium tbh.

Im Not sold on spin test results and suggest getting a second opinion by taking a water sample to a trusted LFS that does NOT use API kits and see what results they come up with to compare with yours.
You want ranges of:
Salinity 1.025-1.026
temp 77-79
mag - 1300-1400
alk 8-11dkh
Ca- 400-475
nitrate- 10.20
phos- .04-.09
moderate light and water flow
Disregard Nitrite

Torches need medium light and flow and feedings of mysis shrimp 2x a week

Agree with @vetteguy53081 . My parameters are finally staying steady in this range, with my Mag running slightly higher, in the mid 1400s. Torches, and the rest of my LPS in particular like this set up. Although I run a bit higher lighting.

Spintouch allows for a lot of variance in the results, if I remember correctly nitrate is +- 15%, it’s all listed on the website. I would verify the results first but according to that mag is low and your nitrate/phos is pretty high
