what do you guys think of these for a QT rack?

I would be putting 2 20 gal longs on it, maybe 2 single 10 gals as emergency isolation tanks also. The site says it’s food for 350lbs per shelf when “evenly distributed”. I’m sure that means when the sidewalls of the shelves are bearing the weight. Still, full 20Ls will only be about half of the max weight. I’m thinking if I put 1/2” plywood over the top of each shelf I should be good, what do you guys think?

I have one of those. It will be fine. I was going to do that also but mine is 4 foot long and wouldn't fit into my rodi closet. We have a ton of cast iron pots and pans and all my wife's mixers and kitchen utensils stored on ours in the kitchen.

I would use a board though for better support for the bottom of your aquarium and probably add a couple of safety straps to the wall so there would be no chance of it tipping.

There is only one sure way to find out. Put them on and pray ! Lol.

oooh I like those. I would bet if you're at half the weight AND adding plywood it would be fine. I would try to test it a little by standing on the bottom one before adding other shelves or something. I feel like when something is rated for a certain weight or working load, it should have a higher breaking weight. But you'll probably be able to tell right away as you're putting it together. If you get them please update. I need to do something similar...

Update on this one: shelves are working great so far. I got some 1/2 plywood and used a hole saw to notch out around the posts. I’ve only got 1 tank filled so far, we’ll see in a couple of days how it does carrying 2 full 20 gallons. But so far so good, access is a little tight to work in the tanks, but it’s managable, fits the two 20 gals pretty well.
