I saw the Tunze kalk reactor and in looked very simple to construct. I think mine is following the same concept. I will be installing this in middle of the ATO return line. I would like to know your thoughts and some constructive criticism is always welcome.

Have you already been dosing kalk before this?
I decided to mix kalk in my ato res so i could start off slow. Right now i only mix 2 tsp per 5 gal.

Using a doser you cant really adjust can you? Its a pretty sarurated slurry every time you dose right?

I cant really comment on the design but it looks like its working.

So far it's working great. I was having issues with PH swings and now it's been stable since set up, and my calcium and KH as well.

The downsides of using directly in your ATO reservoir is that it can damage the return pump or require frequent maintenance. I have never done this just what I've read. Also your Kalk slurry will settle to the bottom and should be agitated every so often. This reactor took me 5 min to build and it keeps the kalk out of my pump. And when my ATO kicks on it mixes the solution. What ATO do you use?

Tunze ozmolator . New pump is only $20.
Only time mine gets mixed is when i add new kalk water.

Like I said just hear say. That's a great ATO. Just don't let your pump sit directly on the bottom if you didn't already know. I have a Milwaukee PH controller that constantly monitors the PH and my ATO is connected to that, so it will shut off ATO if PH rises above set level. So far so good. Keep me posted on your method.

Yeah.

Why not use your doser with the reactor?

I'm not using the doser that came with the PH controller but will probably set that up for magnesium and trace elements I will use my bubble magus doser but first I need to replace a couple heads. Payed $50 for it but the heads are $25 ea so I will be out $75. Was a steal. If it works. Lol

The reactor is hooked up to the PH controller though for safety.

Would you please provid more info about the water bottle. From one of the pictures it looks like a double wall bottle. Is it stainless or poly?

It's poly screw on top with rubber seal. Just drill a hole in the bottom and super glued the hose in top mouth piece then connected to ATO return line. Make sure to use a back flow stopper.
