I can’t image driving back and forth again to our local “Water and Ice” or Grocery Store to fill and haul water!!! Making this cool hobby as easy as possible in areas that I can is a part of the hobby I enjoy. There are some parts of the hobby you just can’t cut corners on.
would I ever go back to hauling water? Nope!!!

It’s been about 7 years for me since I lived in Orlando, but I would get RO/DI for $.25/g and salt for $.50/g. Now in the Philly area it’s $1+ for RO/DI and $1.50+ for salt. I bought a system as soon as I knew I wanted a box of water again. Best move yet. Plus LFS in this area are about as convenient as store hours during covid lockdown.

It seems like most people that haul water have smaller tanks?

Its funny. Some people just absolutely refuse to make the water at home and will transport 10-20 gallons of water from the store each week. It seems to scare a lot of people too. I have seen some people buy 80+ gallons of saltwater or fresh RODI water to set up their tanks rather than buying an RODI unit.

Some simply can't hook up an RODI unit.

I used to be that person that would buy RODI water and take it back home. Eventually I gave up and got my self an RODI system. Even in an NYC apartment I managed to find a small RODI system to fit under my kitchen sink and hook up to the faucet and its saved me so much energy and back pain lol

That's a strange skill set if someone can set up a saltwater tank but not an RODI system... haha

Add an Aquaticlife Barrel Buddie or another controller solution and your RODI will automatically refill your storage container. It doesn't get any easier.

Barrel Buddie Smart Water Level Sensor Automatic Filler Refiller Controller System for Aquariums, Reverse Osmosis Units, Humidifiers

Back in the day, it was a 90g. Also in the 1990s. Backbreaking!!! Lol
OH - I was there with you bro lol:);. I'm just saying nowadays - seems like most people have their own RODI - unless they are extremely small tanks - but IDK
