I was at the local bargain store today and I picked up 5 LED strip lights by aqueon so cheaply I couldn't pass them up! I got 2 x 48" and 3 x 30" ones. My question is this. Will I have to buy the aqueon hood in order to use them or is there another option? Right now I've got the Top Fin LED lights that came with my 55g starter kit on there. ( And I will add as an aside that they are surprisingly bright. I would like to add more to keep hard corals but I think they'd be fine for soft as is.) Is there any way to add these to those lights to that fixure?
Of note: I have almost no electrical/soldering equipment and my only real tool is a Dremel. These lights have plugs on the end like they would plug right into something so I'm hoping I can just get some kind of connecting power strip type deal.
