I have 2 90 gallon frag tanks and want to connect to same sump.I am setting up a Herbie system for both tanks going into sump.each tank has two 1/14 drains.I am plumbing 1 of each of the drains to the sump direct and was going to t the emergency drains together. Each tank have (2) 3/4 returns.I am using one pump and was wondering how to do that cause I'll will have to t it 4 times and dont think I will get equal flow. Can anyone give me some help.Thank you guys in advance

You don't need to get equal flow necessarily …. unless you're really OCD :D. As long as the diverted flow to each tank remains consistent, you can just tune each herbie drain system. Just keep in mind that a four way split puts added back pressure on the pump so make sure to select one that's up to the challenge.

Using ball valves on each of your returns will help you even the flow out

Would a ecotech l1 or reef octopus varios 8 work

Should I do ball valve at the t's on the returns or after. If I do before the t's I would only need 2 ball valves or after i would need 4

Use ball valves anywhere you want to restrict the flow (making it push out elsewhere). I typically have a ball valve on isolated on each individual return so I can play with the flow on any of them.
