Hopefully getting first coral today

One thing I forgot and maybe too late to mention for this time, but a magnifying glass I have found to be one the BEST tools when adding new frags to the system.

Cant tell you how many times I’ve found aiptasia no larger than a few millimeters, that I never would have detected with eyes alone. Proud to say my system is aptasia free and has been since day one. It’s all about the effort you put in.

Second most important, always removing a frag from the old plug and placing on new. Dipping is important too. Do those things and you’ll always (or as close as possible) be pest free.

Toadstools are my favorite corals, can’t go wrong! Don’t panic if it closes up and gets shiny on the top, it will shed and grow bigger. They seem to like lots of random flow.

@samnaz check em out!

The wide leather is a devils finger (?) leather and I forgot the name of the other one I was so excited and the masks made it hard to understand.

Cuttlefish and Corals in pdx seriously took care of me. I can't thank Austin enough. All anxiety melted away seeing his immaculate tanks and hearing him talk about the coral. Blessed to have them near me.

If anyone can remind me what the green one is called that would be great

Didn't see your reply before I sent pics. I magnifying glassed em dipped em and used a black light. I'm a glass blower so magnifying glasses and black lights are always on hand! Also they weren't on plugs when I bought em they were hanging out in the substrate

Nice! Honestly I’m just getting into soft corals now, really. I’ve had zoas and mushrooms and things but I’m not sure of an idea on that green softie. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

Also, glass blowing—sweet!!!
