so I picked up some live rock today and a few hours later, I went to go look at my aquarium and noticed this worm. I looked at a couple different guides, but couldn't nail down exactly what it is. It looks to be about 4 to 6 inches long. These are the best pics I was able to get. I only saw it for a couple seconds going from up by my protein skimmer down to the rock I just got today, which is full of holes and the perfect place for it to live. Can I leave this thing be or do I need to go hunting to get him out?

Looks like a common Bristleworm, if it were my tank I would leave it be. Really need to get a head shot believe or not, to make a positive ID.

Thank you Tahoe, that's what I was leaning towards based on what I saw, but I wanted to get the opinions of people that are much more knowledgeable than I am before make any decisions. I know it's not the best picture for an ID, but I'll take what I can get from it haha

Yea, thats a Bristleworm. Not to worry, ya need him.

I use a trap to thin the worm population every few weeks or so or so i hope that s WAY bigger than the ones i have seen but have gotten 2 or 3 big ones out they just kinda creep me out LOL
