Hi everyone, a friend of mine gave me a war paint scoly yesterday as he told me it was in bad shape and getting worse. He wasn't kidding. I placed him in my tank last night and immediately fed him. He did take the food but it took a long time for him to do so. My questions are, can he potentially recover and if so what suggestions may you have?. Either way thank you!!!

Some tissue recession as you know (couldn't see BJD or any other real problems in pic), but I've seen worse make a full recovery. Looks like it is placed appropriately and the fact it is eating is a very good sign. Would make sure light and flow are sufficient and that any irritation by shrimp, etc. is minimized. Probably just needs to be left alone and given some time to repair itself.
Good luck

Good to know. Im running a Noopsyche K2 pro. I have it set at 20% white and blues at 80%. Thank you for the info

Just make sure to keep the other reef friends away from it. To keep it from retreating or fighting. Good luck. Will be nice when it recovers.

Thank you
