I have the WORST Dino's on my sand bed. Its been months and I have done countless water changes - all my RODI water is 0 TDS. I dont even know what to do anymore, I have beat it in the past but Im stumped right now. Literally 30 minutes once the lights go out, it ALL goes away - what should I do? What should I test for? Can I dose anything?

Makes the whole tank look dirty and horrible

I had a dino outbreak a year ago. No water changes helped it and every medication failed. My cuc didn’t even touch the dinos either. Until I started running carbon and gfo. I also had an extra reactor so I ran bio pellets. The dinos cleared up in a month. Also running the lights with little to no reds, greens, or whites seemed to help. Good luck

UV sterilizer. Over feed or dose nitrate and phosphate if they are both reading zero.
I'm going to try this out, I read a few other success stories with the UV sterilizer so we'll see what happens. Thx

Because at night the dinos are suspended in the water column and will get ran thru the sterilizer and become unable to duplicate so you’ll notice a decrease by the day. Atleast that’s what happened for me. What are your nitrates and phosphates reading?

Kit is expired. I have a new one on the way but im suspecting they're too low.

And yes, after the lights go out - there is zero sign that the Dinos were ever even present anywhere in the system - makes sense why a UV sterilizer would do the trick.

Those HOB Aqua ultraviolet sterilizers are pretty good and don’t cost to much. And you don’t even have to run it 24/7. Just plug in at night. Although some folks do run UV 24/7 because it helps with other stuff as well, Other bacteria’s and algae’s i believe
