For perspective on how not-fun a molasses spill is, check out this historical spill in Boston. Above ground, but it happened right on the harbor. This one happened in January and (from TFA) "The harbor was brown with molasss until summer."

We need to learn to be more careful with this stuff!

P.S. I think the best hope for the situation is a very big storm. "The solution to pollution is dilution..." Sadly I think their radar is clear.
