Hi gang, wondering if anyone can ID these little brown critters crawling around the glass in my QT? They look like some kind of baby snail or flatworm perhaps…. But there are a ton of them crawling around the glass.

Hard to see in pic but I suspect copepods

I've had these before, definitely not pods, the best I can describe them as are shorter versions of "detritovore worms" that people find in fw tanks.

They are harmless and I find them in newer tanks (and in this case, a new QT tank)

They seem to move more like worms, but idk , may well be pods
Unfortunately need closer clearer pics to confirm. Seeing chaeto in the tank may suggest they are pods and if you have sump- thats where you want the chaeto algae

I was able to get one under a microscope…they do look like flatworms to me…

Is that a QT for fish?

Those are a type of worm, detritivores. The question would be, why so many of them in a QT? They must be feeding on something, so that implies too much food going into the system.

Yes- has flatworm appearance
A couple of springieri damsels or 6 line wrasse should consume these but there appears to be quite a bit

Under a microscope

I’ve got a yellow Coris Wrasse in the main tank, and only saw this population explode when I put a turbo snail in the quarantine tank. So I’m hoping that the wrasse is doing his job…. Although I have had a few hammer corals bite the dust….so idk

Or it implies no medication in QT tank
