Hospital tank for internal parasites

I have a clownfish I’ve had for 2 weeks. I didn’t quarantine him because he’s the only fish I plan to keep in my tank. He is fine, eating really well and very active but I’ve noticed white stringy poop. Just to be sure I’ve picked up some API general cure and a small tank, air pump/stone, pvc pipe, heater, and ammonia test. Do I need to run a filter on this hospital tank? Also any tips for medicating for internal parasites? New to treating fish

Consider getting your hospital tank a HOB (hang on back) filter. I like Aquaclear brand. Soak the foam pad with Biospira or Seachem Stability, etc. And it helps if you add a mesh bag with ceramic material, also soaked with Biospira or similar, like Fluval BioMax or similar also to the HOB. You'll end up with a much more stable biochemistry in the tank.

Yes, the biggest mistake people make with a qt or hosp tank is inadequate filtration. As @Big G stated a hob would be best, you could use some of your mature biomedia from your display in it as well. And gc is the best route.

Consider keeping an extra foam pad and a mesh bag with the ceramic material soaking in the sump of your DT. So it's real handy if I need to setup a hospital or QT.
