Can someone please suggest how to lower nitrates in a 55-gallon hospital tank? All other parameters are good. I have HOB power filter, two sponge filters, and perform 20% water change every other day. Thank you.

Larger water changes! All of that filtering power just means that nitrate just sits there waiting to be removed, either biologically through denitrification and nitrate uptake from algaes/plants, chemically through some sort of nitrate adsorber/absorber, or mechanically, through larger water changes.

Thanks, is there any type of dosing other than Fritz zyme 9 that I have been doing that would help prolong the larger water changes?

You could just feed less. I'm under the impression that vodka/carbon dosing can reduce nitrates, as will turf filters, but to the best of my knowledge, I don't know of any dosing that reduces nitrates.

Add some sm pouch of chemiPure Elite. Will knock it right down

Thank you.

Thank you. Do you know if I could use that without depleting the Coppersafe treatment?
Never mind, I just looked at the site and it does remove copper. Thank you again.
