So bought a rose bubble tip last week and want my clowns to dive in. so I decided to try taping a pic to the aquarium. mainly to kind of drive the clowns away from the corner powerhead in my tank that they like. So I come home and my bigger of the two clowns has black spots like it has tried and been stung. They wasn't there yesterday. I haven't actually saw it happening yet but she must be close. The two pictures got them out of the corner and real close to where they can see and be around the Rbta. Any thoughts?

I have heard of this method working in the past good luck

Well the first couple days it worked to get them away from the corner of the tank. And the next day it had black spots like it was trying to host but I never saw it happening. Now it seems they've gotten accustomed to the pics being there. So I'll give it alittle more time moving the pics around or something. I really don't think it'll work but who knows.

They will decide when its time lol. Took mine a year....

A good trick is to move things around in the tank if possible to make them uncomfortable....this isnt always possible but when i transfered took the new tank they to refuge in the nem near instantly

Your right that's all it boils down too. I'm not one to take a chance to do the unnatural way like cramming them in there when they're not ready.

Not condoning this idea, but i was cool to watch...theres a video around here somewhere of a guy using an acrylic tube to make them go in

I actually thought about that getting a longer gravel vac and using that if they don't get their little tails on there after a few month I'll try that.

Took mine a little while. probably about 3 months. Then one day, I walked by the tank and found the female hosting. Male doesn't go near it.

Awesome hope they go naturally but it would be a shame for just one to host it. I'm sure the other will come over to the dark side eventually too haha. Kinda weird

I've done it on two occasions and it worked both times. Granted, I only waited like a week before taping the pictures so it may have just been a coincidence.

Oh well don't know why it isn't working. Anyway taped two pics of ocelaris clowns in a rose bubble tip anemone. The first little but they moved out of the corner and showed interest and started getting black sting spots. They frequent the area more so it's a matter of time I'd say

I did the same, it worked for me. its just hit or miss :)
i had two percs that went straight to a carpet within an hour of posting a picture.

i now have a blood orange hosted by a condy. rare and stoked about it :)

I litterly just took my clowns that I've had for a year and my RBTA that I've had for 6months and put them in a small conainer that I drilled his in. Overnight the clowns we're going nuts in the anemone. I have them still in the container for safe measure so it will be 48hrs of them hosting before I release them back into the tank.

Yea when i got my bubble tip I wish I had took the time to catch the clowns and do this. Now I'm kinda stuck because there's no way I'm gonna risk moving the nem. He's on a rock that cannot come out. Low on the tank and low flow too I'm surprised by that.

My RBTA was secured pretty well. You would be surprised at how easy they come off the rock with just a little work. You don't want to rip but a slight pull and they start to release the foot.
