Since installing the canopy with my 2 huge T5 fixtures inside, my tank temp rose 1F when lights are on.

I have a lot of large vent holes on top.

Currently I have a fan blowing from left to right under the fixtures but it has no effect.

Can someone please tell me if I should blow air IN the canopy or to blow air OUT the canopy? What will result in the greatest cooling effect?

Ideally you want fans blowing IN with sufficient holes/vents for the air to passively leave the canopy. The reasoning you don't want it blowing out is that the salt laden air could prematurely kill the fan.
