Hottest sps corals in the hobby

what’s up with tgc? Their store is closed and their website is never updated, been under construction forever. Do they still release corals?

The maleficent acro is one of my favorites right now. I don't have a pic though. And I'm a big fan of classics, pink lemonade, mother of pearl, oregon tort, cali and miagi tort, vivds rainbow and pc rainbow. To name a few.

There's so much fire out there these days. Always trying to figure out which ones to keep and get rid of. So I can get knew or let others grow. I don't know. I want em all.

This is a very finicky coral. I killed it once and I have 2 buddies that have lost it too.

Vivid almost lost it a few times. Vivid corals in general don't acclimate well. Not sure what it is but I've talked to quite a few people, and all say the same vivids don't fair well. And yes I know some of them grow like weeds. I think its cause they're all still wild and not fully acclimated to marine hobby. But they do have gems and I'll keep trying.

Killed jawdropper twice now. Have another coming tomorrow.

Needless to say. I'd like to wait and purchase insanity from a fellow reefer instead of vivid. Vivid got a little to money hungry for me.

Honestly, I don't understand it when people say HW is "just a green tenuis"; yeah I get that, but once they see how it's supposed to look in real life, it's one of the nicest ones there is.

Agreed. There are many beautiful rainbow Tenuis our there but a colored up HW is hard to beat.

Agreed. There are many beautiful rainbow Tenuis our there but a colored up HW is hard to beat.

Does anyone find it interesting that over 90% of the photos in this thread are of 1" frags? Why is it that nobody seems to have large colonies of high-end corals? Is it that people frag them frequently to sell off frags, or that the high-end frags never grew into large colonies? Most of my SPS cost in the $10 - $50 range, and I've grown many of them to large colonies (over 6" across) over the past couple years. I've never bought into the high-end collector frags, not because I can't afford them, but just because I don't personally think they're worth the premium price.

To answer your question I think the people who are growing huge colonies don’t really care to show them on a thread they know what they have and don’t care enough to show and people who just got the coral all want to show it off because they are happy they have a bucket list coral then they will kill it like I have done so many times and no one ever likes talking about that
