morning, fish friends! I have a question.

This weekend we are bombing our house with bug spray. Normally this is not an issue, as all my freshwater tanks have glass canopies and I just turn off and unhook the airlines and canisters, and cover any gaps over the canopies with press n seal. However I have a 40 gallon plus a sump, neither have the glass canopies. What would you guys suggest for covering? I can easily cover the overflow back, but what about the sump and main display? Would two layers of press n seal be enough?

Thanks in advance.

Grab a thin/clear plastic tarp like the ones used on the floor while painting. Cover your tank and stand with it...tape around the bottom to seal it. You can put an airline tube into the tank and run it outside to an air pump. This will create positive pressure with fresh air in the tank to eliminate the chance of anything getting in. I did this when we had hardwood floors put in during the sanding and finishing stage.

I have used cheap plastic painting drop cloths and duct tape. I have also used the large 55 gallon contractor trash bags.
