I will say this. ... having my sump in the basement, I had to replace replace a 15yr old rusted out furnace
Not exactly bc of evap water..... but transferring salt mix from a bag into a 5 gal bucket ...or... mixing new water.
Whenever that SALT DUST gets airborne.... it's a deadly rust maker. Rusting HVAC pipes, furnaces, tools, etc.
Do yourself a favor keeping the airborne dust down to a MIN. maybe even move any activity that causes airborne salt DUST into the ventilated garage.
