Hello it been awhile since I've been here. I'm in the process of making a 10w led for the nano reason is cost wise it a lot cheaper than buying 6 3w LEDs compare to buying one 10w chips. Anyway my question is what are some good website tht actually sell a housing kits like the makerled stuff? I want something sleek and cool looking I love the nano box led but they don't sell the housing alone which suck.

Here are my thoughts...

One 10 watt chip produces more light for the watt.

That said no one who has used the Iwasaki 6.5K to grow talks about how well it makes their corals look.

3W LEDs??? They differ hugely in quality and brightness. Counterfeits to unbinned to binned Cree X series...Either way a huge variance in looks if you choose wrong.

HeatsinkUSA has a T-Slot Heatsink you can easily fit any custom acrylic housing to.

It also gives you much better thermal management so you can choose the better Cree or Luxion LEDs and keep them cooler than their design specs.

This will give you a brighter more longer lasting light.

You more often than not get what you pay for but you can choose the better parts which will cost you less in the long run.

Also never judge a LED Fixture by watts...Like judging a motor by cylinders...

Cheers

Bill

Don't get me wrong I love the 3w LEDs esp with the Crees but I just want to try something else just don't want to spend 3 bucks for each led for a nano tank when I can spend 4 bucks for one 10w it still have blue n white yes the binning will be different. I'm not really trying to expand the life of the led cuz I know tht I will want something else in 10 years
