About 1 year into my first reef tank with coral and fish doing pretty well, I decided to take the plunge and go for a clam at my LFS store.

it’s probably about 3 inches, told it was a maxima.

it is sitting on a small rock on top of the sandbed, in a 40g breeder with a 300 watt Chinese LED light set at 100% blue, 40% white.

I’ve had it for probably a couple weeks now.

Does it look OK? Shall I leave it where it is? It has a very brisk light response. (It even knows when I approach the tank, haha)

thanks

GOOD COLOR/ GOOD MANTLES

REMEMBER:
Salinity not to exceed 1.026
temperature not to exceed 80
Alk not to exceed 9.0
Ph not to exceed 8.3

Looks good, would like to see a bit more mantle extension but many times it takes a while to fully settle in. Just don’t fuss with it! If it’s not moving around and falling over that’s about as good sign as you can get!
