How’s my tank cycle going so far?

Hey guys,

I dosed my aquarium with Fritz Turbo Start on 6/22 and have been measuring my levels daily. I didn’t measure ammonia on the first day and maybe I should’ve.

Does this cycle look


Would it be wise to also measure salinity and temperature?

My 10 gallon showed 0 nitrate in about 8 day’s and ammonia shortly after. Turbo start worked great for me.

Ph may bounce around a bit dont try and correct it until cycle is finished.....I believe you shoul be aiming for zero ammonia and zero nitrite for cycle to complete.......you may show small reading on nitrate at end of cycle but you should be able to rectify that with a water change before adding stock..........your ammonia may spike even further yet before it drops patience is the key......you wont gain anything by rushing the cycle........whilst your cycling start reading up on your stocking list and order........theres always plenty to plan and do whilst cycling to keep your interest going....Enjoy....

Here is what you should be looking for. There should be three peaks, first your ammonia, than your Nitrite, and then your Nitrates. When you tank is cycles you will have 0 Ammonia and Nitrites. The amount of Nitrate you have, and want to have will depend on your corals. I have higher nitrates as I have a lot of soft corals and they like the water a little dirtier.

Fritz costs so much because of how fast it speeds up a normal cycle

so, do you want to make use of the $ or go by the normal cycle, can select

if you select a fritz speed cycle, like what Dr. Reef tested in his bottle bac work thread, then there's only one way to know: dose your ammonia up to a small degree where you tester registers slightly more ammonia than it tests for right now.

then in 24-48 hours after the re dose up, I bet the color is back to what it reads right now

that up, than down, has been shown to work within 48 hours using fritz, and that's speed cycled.

Dr Reef even did the ultimate proofing, a full water change in each test vessel which now measures *only* what had time to adhere to surfaces, a true surface cycle.

48 hours, fritz was immune to full water changes and still oxidized ammonia. nitrite and nitrate are no longer required in cycling/old data that caused a wait.

bottle bac makers found out only ammonia control matters, and they're doing well with that and nobody's fish-in cycle is stalling etc/fish are living due to their abilities. you paid for that ability, to use it isn't bad its just conflicting with old cycle data. reef conventions are able to start full reefs x 500 all on the same date since only ammonia control matters. if nitrite and nitrate mattered, they'd all stagger start 1-89 days ~

that reef conventions always start and end on time and nobody has stuck cycles also speaks volumes about how allowed start dates have changed.
