Hopefully this animated gif is viewable?

My son installed his first two corals, yesterday. A frogspawn and a candy cane.

How’s the frogspawn look? Is the flow too strong?

Ended up moving power head to the other side, after a week. Seems happier, now.

Another newb question - what kind of algae do we have growing on our rocks? It’s bright green under natural light and is stringy (kind of like seaweed). It looks awesome, and so I just want to make sure it’s copacetic. Thanks!

Very pretty frogspawn! All of my Frogspawn seem to be happiest in medium flow. The algae kind of looks like green hair algae maybe?
+1 grab some blue leg hermit crabs.

+1 on hair algae. I would put some CUC right away before it gets worst. I do like the scape though. Tank looks fairly new so keep an eye on the corals. You also might have a vermitid snail on your candy cane. Just nip it off before it spreads in your tank. They can irritate corals to death. Good luck on your son's tank.

Wow, I wouldn’t have noticed or even known to look for the vermitid snail. Thank you!

We have a CUC, but need to expand it. Currently 3 snails and 3 hermits.

I have some in system that's why. I think mine came from my Chaeto along with spirobid worms. They really aren't that bad since they filter feed. They just annoy corals that's all.

Snipped that sucker off, today, and added three big blue legged hermits and three Trochus snails.
