Well that changes things! Good layout you choose. I will look into these.
That layout is by chris. He post on r2r, he has done extensive testing and modding of these lights with the manufacturer. He deserves the credit. All you have to do is tell them you want the newest chris configuration and your good to go!

Chris was the one who finally sold me on them and he is an end user not connected to the company financially. He should be though. He answered probably 100 emails from me over about 6months!

I use the florecent light diffusers also. Mine are resting on top of eggcrate which is setting on the rim of my tank. Looks just like t5 lighting in my tank too.

The diffusion that I can easily make is effective.:)

break them and mold it all back together ? you know its actually way harder to break then i thought haha, i tried my multi tool, a hand drill.. and in the end a good ol hammer and chisel did the job

I’m really happy with my SB reefs basic. Better spectrum than the eBay black boxes for only a very small increase in price. I lit my whole 210g for just over $500. Would have cost at least $2000 for some of the high end units to cover my tank. My corals don’t care about WiFi and thunderstorms. I actually think I get less shadowing than with some of the expensive puck style lights. Honestly even with an unlimited budget I wouldn’t buy the high end lights.

I have two old Mars aquas covering this 90g grows my magnificas and gigantea anemones well. Lights are at least 3 years old.

what percent are you running your black boxes?

i was told " no more that 30% blues and 10% white channel. And run it about 12" off the water. " but thats for my Nuvo 20g

Rent a PAR meter and use data to drive your decisions.

I like my black box. A put white for my tastes but it is growing junk. When I learn to solder I’m gonna tank out all the reds whites and greens (except 9 2500k) and just pump it with violets and rbs. Maybe a mint or two. Right now I’m running the wills leds black box at 80 percent blues and 10 percent whites over a 10 gallon. May seem like a lot but everything from my rhodactis shroom to my Monti love it.

Thank you! That's what I am at also! Do you run T5's to supplement?
i wont be, but im honestly the last person to ask im totally new to salt tanks as well haha :) just figured i would pass on what i was told to do.
