Tank is about 6 months old, and Roughly 150 gallons (bare bottom). About 9 fish, some zoas, hammers, torches, couple sps frags, a few favias, acans, etc.
Trident reading
Alk 8.4
Cal 507
Mag 1412
PH 7.87
RedSea Nitrates 5
Hanna phosphate ULR .011

I started with a small quart size bag of Chaeto in my fuge and it has now grown to about half of the 24 gallon fuge. Should I trim it now? I do get some brown algae grown on the bottom of the tank but nothing out of control or hard to handle. Most of all my coral was just put into the DT in the past 2 weeks (was in QT before that) so it really hasn’t starties consuming Alk much yet. About 15ml per day is the current consumption.

Really just want to make sure I’m on the right track and don’t want anything getting out of control. I know cal is currently on the high end but I think it will come down since my frag tank was never that high (same salt).

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I'd say things look OK. The fact that you have some nitrates is probably why the Chaeto is growing. I'd harvest some now and keep an eye on it. As long as it's growing fast, keep trimming it back. Then growth slows down, your nitrates will probably be lower and you should harvest less volume and less often.

Good luck.
