How are signature corals found and named??

I saw someone on here trying to name a Zoa Kobe Bryant the day he died. And was using the colors of the Zoas as justification to do it................ called him out on it.

This hobby is filled with extremely greedy people.

Morning bump :)
Just want to keep hearing others opinions and experiences!

Its a good idea to first look around and see if there is something with a similar name.

Since you mentioned zoas -- one of the most common color morphs in wild shipments are the type called "eagle eyes". But theyre not all identical, some have longer tentacles, some are larger, some are smaller, some are slightly more orange, some are slightly more red.

IMO, it would be not really honest to rename these all. Just call them Eagle Eyes, not New Release Ultra Watermelons.

On the other hand, if you find a type that you cannot find a name for online, slap a name on it for convenience -- it really does get tiresome talking about Reddish-Orange Zoas with a Green Skirt Morph #127.
