Ok, after long term use over your sps tank, how are you liking it?
Would you buy again?
Any issues that you've had?
I'm considering the 36" 8-bulb for 47" x 31" x 20" tank.
I'm not usually a fan of all T5 but the led seem to add just enough contrast and shimmer to sway me over.
Would love to hear your thoughts!

So back in November I made the move from Kessil LEDs over to the ATI 36in 8 builb and while I know this would not be considered "long term" but in the past 4 months I have seen more growth and color from my SPS (and LPS) than I ever did with pure LEDs. I absolutely love the ATI unit and would have no problem buying it again or suggesting it to a fellow reefer. I have mine over a 40b and its about ~6in off the water.

Yeah, i never had luck with all LED. I'm usually a MH/T5 guy but the new build will need something a little sleeker and I need to cover more front to back.
All of the mh/t5 combo fixtures only have 4 t5 bulbs.

I think the T5/LED combo units are a great way to go

Silly question :p
The ATI hybrid is the T5 to go with.
You'll love it.
For what you use as a combo you just have to make that long trip back to the country.
Btw, I forgot the VIP tour next Sunday ;) lucky duck!

The Led powermodule is awesome. I have the 4x24 over a 60 cube and have sps doing great on the sandbed. Great light

I've been using my ATI Hybrid since November 2015.

I'm really happy with the fixture but I still find myself tweaking the LED and T5 schedule. The LEDs are powerful and will toast your corals, even if you only turn them up to 30-40% for the duration of the light cycle. My SPS did not like the LEDs on at this power the entire day.

Many other users have had the same issues with the LEDs. The solution seems to be running the LEDs at high power, say 70-80%, but only for an hour or two and then dialing back to nothing except for dusk/dawn effects.

Thanks for the tip.
And did you notice this across the span of the tank or just directly under the leds. It doesn't look like those narrow little clusters would do much, but my LFS ran the demo mode with just the LEDs and I was surprised at how they pretty much lit up the entire 4' cube.

I don't have that at all, leds ramping up from 10:30am from 0 to 100% at noon.
I have only all the blue leds at 100%, white at only 25% and no red.
They stay on till 9pm at 100% and will ramp down with complete off at 11:30.
The unit is 14" above the water surface if that can make a difference.

I've had the 48 inch 3 led/ 4t5 model over a 90g tank. I only turn the LED to 60% max, but get par readings 250 on the bottom of my 18 inch high tank. Fixture 8 inches off the water surface. Probably bought one of the first models when they came out about 2 years ago. have coral plus/blue plus alternating for the T5's. Aesthetics and sps growth are great. I've came from a t5 only setup previously, so I can only compare to that... Needless to say I would buy the fixture again in a heart beat.. it is everything I was hoping it would be... Although the 8 t5 fixture would have been a little wide for my tank, I am glad I chose the 4 bulb as the LED's have some serious juice..

After seeing the beyond beautiful photos and tanks youve have/had im so surprised you havnt tryed the fixture yet. Ive ben using them, hybrid and regular both with reefbrite strips for quite a while. I cant say either longterm as both fixtures ran almost 3 years, but ive ben more happyer with using them instead of using 400w mh. I would 100% buy again if i started a new build (if i dont take a shot at just leds). And havnt had problems with them other then the typical blowing out bulbs

I have a question for someone that has the powermodule. I have an ATI dimmable and hate when I lose power (live in FL) and I need to reset the clock. Does the powermodule have this problem?

Are you guys using the T5 dimming feature? Does that work well?
How are you getting along with the LED programming/software. I have windows running on bootcamp on my macbook pro so I assume that will work fine?

Nope!

Yep it works fine but you need to have a USB cable to program.

I am using dimmable, only to ramp up and down just because it looks nice with the leds on. After they get over 70% With all the leds on (reefbrites and hybrid) you cant really see the shimmer. The one and only downside about the dimming for me is burning in bulbs, still till this day trying to figure a better way at home other then me having to leave them on a old fixture at my lfs for 5 days lol

I don't know that part as I have a generator for the tank, the TV in the room and my bar ;)

I started my 40b almost 2 years ago with a 300w black box led fixture. I ran it like this for 9 months and was losing color in every coral I bought. I upgraded to a 36" four bulb dimmable ATI fixture with a Reefbrite strip couldn't be happier.

No worries thanks... That sad I couldn't be happier with the growth and color of T5. ATI is a great fixture. My tank is all SPS and the light is what is making the difference.
