So I finally set up my aquarium, it's a 28g JBJ nano. I added my sand and then my RO/DI...Looked at the clock and knew I had to get to sleep for work. When i got home I added my salt and it's been sitting for a week now just circulating. Because I let the live sand sit for a day without the salt mix did I ruin the sand?

Thank God!!! Thanks for the response, I'm getting my rock tomorrow from FedEx I'll just let it cycle then

It's all good. I would not give it a second thought.

Thanks Tahoe61 !!! Definitely eases my mind about this, it's taking awhile to become less cloudy aswell, I think that's why I'm so nervous

in my opinion this is the key time to strip the sand out and rinse it until it cannot cloud so that all particulate matter is removed it can save you big headaches later I do it all the time to new beds, a silt or dust ejection.

the direct benefit is now you can reach in my tank pick up a scoop of sand and drop it and no cloud happens it just falls down this helps tremendously when you have to work on your tank

I think the so called live sand wasn't live anymore after 1 day of sitting in rodi (fresh water) . The saltwater bacteria probably died, but since you added salt afterward and it has been a week, you probably have a few more week before the complete its cycle.
