So I came across this post on OfferUp for a 30g tank for $400. I noticed the fish seems really malnourished. I’m trying to see if seller is willing to part with it. By the looks of him what would his survival rate be? Thanks all

If he's eating I would think good chance of survival. If you go check it out see if you can try and feed him something.
Thanks, it’s so sad to see such awesome creatures be in the wrong hands. I’m not an expert I’m a noob but I sure as heck won’t let that happen.

With immediate intervention....yes.
2 blues and a yellow in a 30g.....that’s not going to work out well in the next 6 months or so.

The issue with the fish is that they all belong in a tank 4 times that size. If you get that tank, do the right thing and trade those fish in the your LFS.

I would not take it to a fish store I would look for a dedicate hobbyist who is going to do what it takes to save those fish. His chances at most fish stores would be low. Or do you have a decent size tank? 100 gallon or more.

2 hippos and a yellow tang in a 30g, what an idiot... Forget the Tang Police, the Tang FBI need to show up to this guys door!

Hopefully you can get the livestock away from him, seems like in his care they have no chance of survival. Id say that yellow tang might have HLLE. If its just malnourished to that degree its probably too late. I wouldn't pay $ for him but if he's willing to give it up to save it, id give it a shot in a hospital tank...

Those hepatus obviously are pit bulls in the tank
Proper diet and water quaility and its on its way but dont expect the fins to fully recover in original shape

This guy was a rescue I took from a LFS that pulled him from a neglected tank. Owner just decided to stop feeding the fish. He doesn't look much better now than in the photo from a couple months ago. But he's my ugly duckling, healthy and vibrant. Just will never grow his fins back that I can tell.
