So I just picked up my first carpet anemone. I have done a lot of reading and I know carpet anemones are hard to keep. However, I currently have succesfully kept 5 BTAs in my tank (oldest one is almost 1.5 years with me). Anyways I know that a tightly closed mouth is important and when I picked the carpet anemone up from the store this morning the mouth looked good. However, the anemone has been in my tank for about 5 hrs and the mouth is still gaping open. It doesnt look as bad as a lot of the pictures that I see online but it does not look like the pictures of a healthy nem. Anyways my question is how bad is this nem. Do you think it is going to make it. I always get so worried whenever I pick up a new inhabitant so maybe I am just over paranoid. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

It's a tough call. My biggest concern would be acclimation stress. How big a difference was the salinity change. Large salinity changes should be done over several days.
