This is not my fish. Someone sent me this picture and asked me what's wrong. It looks like it's from ammonia, but I'm no expert. How bad is it? Thanks

Looks like a shark? Maybe it's in a tiny tank with fake decorations? Does not look to be the right environment for a shark from that small snap shot if that's what it is. Doesn't look like much room there but ammonia or potentially a multitude of issues are not out of the question

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. It's in a 125 gal. Every negative thing you think about this situation is probably correct. I am trying to get them to return the shark, but I am not there. I don't even know them. I have just been PM-ing with them here. It will probably end up dying if they keep it. I am confident this is due to ammonia - I don't think they cycled the tank. For the moment, how bad is it?

Man that's sad hopefully they can rehome and save its life quickly

@((FORDTECH)) is this the same shark we were talking about?
A few days ago? Yep. I got in contact with him since he wasn't going to post anymore because everyone was angry and I wanted to try to calmly talk some sense into him. However, I do not have a lot of hope. He just doesn't understand things. It's a strange situation. Don't want to be mean, so let's just say he doesn't understand what's happening or how to fix it. Looks like it won't last more than a day or so at this rate, but I don't know. I can tell you all the details in a PM if you want.

Good for you for trying to help him and the fish. I don't know what to do here other than try some prime in the water. Maybe throw in a big airstone to really oxygenate the water after that? I don't know. Very frustrating.

Yeah. He just now told me that he came from the store and put in some bottled bacteria, prime and ammo lock. I am going on the assumption that he plans on keeping it no matter what. I don't think I can really help in the end, but I can at least try. So, looks like this is from ammonia and I am going to say it's bad and needs care from someone.

They should also remove the decorations in the tank to give the shark more swimming room and less obstacles to injure himself. I think sharks need to swim constantly to breath, they can only take in oxygen when the water is flowing through their gills.
