Hi All,

I am just about to take the plunge and purchase a protein skimmer for my new saltwater setup.

I have been looking at the Reef Octopus brand and have narrowed it down to either a NWB 150 (largest - rated up to 150gallons) or a NWB 110 (smaller - rated up to 100 gallons).

I am unsre, even though I have read a load of articles, as to whether I need a bigger skimmer or if the smaller of the two will cut the mustard.

what do you think?

thanks,
Duncan

what size is your whole system including dt gallons and sump total gallons?

Honestly my best advice is to go as big as you have space for and can afford. There are so many reasons for this. Good luck.

as big as your sump would let you. the bigger skimmers function better and will save you alot of money in the future when you upgrade.

exactly go bigger know so when you upgrade its one less piece you will need

thanks for the quick replies.

My tank is 75 gallons and my sump is a 33 gallon tank, which i guess will hold somewhere in the vicinity of 20 gallons.
