Not sure about maximum but they can get pretty big. I had to move one out of my reefer 170 into my 180 gallon because it was getting too big. It's probably 10 inches or so when fully inflated.

tried looking it up online with no avail. ive only ever seen a few in person. some of the craziest color patterns I have ever seen.

How big do you think that is? Patience paid off in that instance! great tank

It's about 10+ inches accross when fully inflated. Its partially inflated in that pic

Seen this at one of my local lfs last month at £ 1450.00 which probably around $2000.00 us dollars,( not sure of current conversion without googling.
But anyhow it was like 15cm high and a good 35-40 cm wide and cant remember front to back size but was massive
1 inch = 2.5 cm if remember correctly so was a big boy indeed ^_^

Here are some big acanthos & wellsos- the gold acantho to the right is over 11” diameter when he’s draped out- the cynarina in front of him gets pretty big too
