How big do Desjardini sailfish tangs grow in captivity?

How large are the Desjardini tangs growing in fellow reefers tanks? I really want one but I am afraid it will grow too large. I have a 300 gallon tank. Tank is not heavily stocked.

The largest I’ve seen in captivity grown from those 1 inch babies was a 10 inch specimen that looked to be Atleast 5 years old. Wish I got a photo of it when we had it in the LFS as it was extremely fat.

Mine is 6/7” at 4 years in my tank bought at about 2/3” and has slowed way down in growth the last year. He’s in a 210.

They can get that big, but it's kinda rare in captivity. You have to own one long enough to see it @ that size.

They grow fast, the one I added over the summer has grown like a pig! It's close to my YT's size.
