How big is too big for a UV sterilizer?

Local hobbyist is selling a 57 watt aqua sterilizer for a great price. My concern is that I only have a 75 gallon tank. Can I run this with a lower watt bulb? Will the bigger size give me excellent contact time and be a win?

Any thoughts?

I use a a 57 watt Aqua UV on my 75g tank. I run with the 57w bulb and even at a lower gph than recommended...only approx 400gph to help control dinos. No problems.

Yeah I'd second that I couldn't imagine too many problems with that also if you do have issue you can always increase flow through the unit to reduce contact time or set it on a timer.
