Have any of your QTs been cycled?

For ~30 fish you’d want to make sure you don’t overcrowd any of the tanks and risk ammonia spikes, so I would use the 55g as well depending on what kind of a barrel it is.

Definitely get bacteria to jumpstart the cycle.

The 40 breeder has been running for a month with 2 Clownfish. Im adding water to the breeding system tonight and adding Bio-spira in 2 days after temps and salt mixes. Everything is bare bottom and only pvc is in the tanks. Not much of a cycle to have.
