May i know the size suit for almost marine fish can keep( except shark, maybe i’ll have eel).

there are so many marine fish, can you perhaps list the fish you would like to keep so we can help better? some eels have quite a small max size and be kept in a tank of 100 gallons or less. Golden swarf moray, for example, stays relatively small.

I will answer a different question:

As a beginner, I was advised to start with a tank between 40 & 100 gallons. That's large enough to keep the water parameters stable, but small enough to be manageable.

At 100 gallons, you still can't have some really cool fish, like most Tangs and other "large" fish.

But, no matter how big your tank is, there's always going to be a bigger fish that needs more space than you have.

Personally, I went to Live Aquaria and looked at the type of fish I might want someday. That site has recommendations for tank size. For instance, this Snowflake Eel recommends at least 50 gallons for a tank. This Moray Eel recommends 125.

So, for you, I'd recommend picking out some fish that you might want and looking what size is needed. There really is no "This tank is big enough to hold anything" size for most of us (except that one guy who built a concrete bunker of a tank....)

Triggers can grow to be almost 2ft long. Grouper also can grow massively. This question is subjective to your planned tank. Big saltwater fish are usually not reef safe. So do you want corals or fish? If you want fowlr then you can get some bigger fish. But the bigger fish as meaner. So to answer your question. 10ft long and minimum of 4ft wide you can keep just about anything.

I agree with looking through live aquaria. They are a good starting point for tank size. You will get a lot of different opinions from people on here. Better to start off with one source that gives solid information and then as you learn more you can go from there

Thanks much for your infomation

1st do you want a
FOWLR, Mixed reef, sps reef. All have needs to be met.
2nd do you want predator mean fish or a simple community.
3rd space in home for the tank for the fish
4th budget for the build.
These will drive your answers.

I already have cubic 60cm. I want to build a tank that have 3 floors: for predators, community and reef tank. I also plan an acrylic tank.

A 6ft tank allows you to keep most of the marine hobby fishes. The bigger the tank, the more options and more fish you can keep. Obviously, 8ft would be even better. LOL. But it all depends on what kind of fish you want to keep. If you want just wrasses and smaller fish, then a smaller tank would be just fine.
