So I bought this Toadstool a few weeks back and it's doing great.i was wondering how big it could possibly get as I would like to put it as a corner piece and put stuff in front. I thinking I bought the wrong leather for what I want to do.
Thanks

My neon green toadstool is about 10-12" in diameter, with about a 4" stalk. I'd imagine most other toadstools would be similar.

At that size its growth has seemed to slow a bit.

Over the past 7 years, for space reasons, I would trim it when it got to 8-10" ... either by cutting the whole head off at the top of the stalk ... or by removing the bulk of the head in a doughnut shape using the top of the stalk as a guide (leaving head in polyps only at the top of the stalk.

They're very hardy.

When you frag/trim it, it will seem dormant and be closed up for 2-4 weeks. Then, all of a sudden, new polyps will start to appear and the growth cycle will begin again.

I was hoping that it will get big enough that I can put it in the back corner as idk a back centerpiece for lack of better word I guess

Like this?

I grew him from a tiny lil hitchhiker on a rock that an anem came mounted on. After about idk 1.5 year it grew to about 6" at the crown. He's got a buddy that 3" beneath the biggun'.

Ya that's really cool. Hopefully mine will achieve that.
Do you feed your softies?I have been target feeding ab+ and it seems to make a difference. I also just upgraded to the ai blade so not sure which is doing it but I have seen visible growrh

I don't target feed, i do a half a teaspoon of reefroids 3x a week, broadcast feed. And monthly ~25% water changes. Darwinism runs strong in my tank.

Japanese toadstools can easily attain an 8" size but also in the process will release fragments to produce new ones which slows down growth. The largest ive seen was near 10". Mine is only 5" but also Not Yet growing.

One of my toads went from about an Inch in diameter to over 14“ in a little less than two years.
