How can I attach a barnacle cluster to an overflow?

I am leaning heavily on attaching this barnacle cluster to my overflow.

First thought is silicone. The tank arrives Jan 4 so it will be dry for a while. Tank is a RSR 525xl.

I have read there are 2 types of silicone, only one of which can be used in a reef tank.

I’m thinking of attaching directly to the box, or to a rock and back it up to the box.

Thoughts or ideas appreciated!

I would use some plumbers epoxy and allow it to cure before filling up the tank with water. Home Depot sells EP-200 in the PVC aisle and it is considered food grade when cured. I have personally used this to attach rock work in my tanks and it holds up very well over time.

Depending on the overflow type, if plastic, I might even consider drilling two small holes enough for a zip tie to fit to use this as a backup to the epoxy.
